Most of us didn’t need a pandemic to show us that we need people in our lives. However, if we needed a reminder, social distancing has been reminding us that everyone is important, from the workers at the gas stations, coffee shops, and restaurants we frequent to our closest friends and family.
In this time of pandemic and pandemonium, the negative person, perpetuating fear, would tell you that anyone you come in contact with could be a carrier and could turn your life on it’s head by infecting you with a scary virus. The ever-present truth behind that statement is, “any person you meet could be someone that can change your life forever”. In acknowledgement of that truth, we owe it to ourselves to be mindful and appreciative of the people we already know; the people who’ve made it beyond the role of “extra” in the movie of our individual lives. We should familiarize or remind ourselves of their character, their background, and what they have to offer. Not to take advantage of them by using them to get ahead. Instead, we should be determined to make the most of knowing them, making note of not just what they can do for us, but what we can do for them. Once we’ve put the people in our lives in useful, constructive perspective, we can go to them with “fresh ideas“. Ideas with purpose of taking our many relationships to their respective next level.
